Happy Halloween Weekend!

Note to self: When a strange man in cover-alls and a hard hat comes walking into your room,
waking you up...do not panic.
It's just probably Halloween and your husband is dressed as a Chilean miner.
Mr. Toby and I had a rude awakening experience this morning.
Charlie in full miner garb burst into the bedroom with his hard-hat LED light blazing.
First of all, I was blinded by the florescent light and
couldn't really tell the man before me was my one and only.
Second of all, Toby was completely freaked out and of course started barking
because he didn't recognize Charlie either.
Thirdly, It's a darn good thing I got up at 5 to let Toby outside and took a trip to the potty myself
because I surly would have messed myself.
...sigh...
But he did look very handsome/scary with dirt smeared all over his face
and his rock climbing harness.

Home away from Home

Ah, yes.  We spend alot of time in our old college town.
We eat good food...
Hear concerts...
Hang out with family...
Make new friends...
Sing fun songs and dance the night away!
Charlie and I have been to over 10 concerts this past year.
We're lucky to listen to such nice peoples' music and get to meet them!
 Cheers for musical weekends!

Maiden Festival Voyage

Here ye, Here ye, all ye merry people!!
Let it be know the Lloyd clan descended on the famed
Ren Fest for the first time this eve.
We amused ourselves with food
and wizardry?
Yes, Yes, the husband and I caught the tail end of the
Renaissance Festival this Sunday.
Things got a little foxy.
I even got "a salted" and "batteried"
This chap poured salt in my hand an then chased it with a D battery.
Get it...'Assalt and Battery"
My face sums up the experience.

"Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries"
~ French Man from Monty Python: The Search For The Holy Grail
We tried to recreate a Monty Python look but it didn't quite work out.
Husband snapped this to show the viking like individual
in the background.
The people watching alone made this a fun trip
and maybe we can get more into costume on our next visit.
Hazzah!

Toby's Throne

I have had the joy of spending the past couple of days with my fur baby,
Mr. Tobis.
In honor of his visit I moved the ottoman from our chair
over in front of the window so he can look out into the courtyard while I work at my desk.
He likes to perch and sniff indignantly at all the little
critters that fly and scamper around, taunting him from outside.
His personality is hilarious and he's pretty smart if i do say so myself.
He knows now if I have my running shoes on we're going out for the long haul
and usually he won't "step paw" out of the door when I don that foot gear.
It got to the point where I'd have to put on flip flop to take him on a short walk.
That maltipoo is somethin' else!

The Week of 3 Fridays

Friday #1
Oh yes, friends.
Charlie and I had a full week of outings and concerting.
We must be in our 20s or something...
Our Wednesday night was spiced up with a concert
at House of Blues to see Mat Hires.
The drama of the night entailed us forgetting the tickets at home
and only realizing this fact after having already arrived in downtown Houston.
Already nursing a headache among other things
I didn't want to leave home once we had
retrieved the tickets.
But I am so glad I let Charlie talk me into going because the show was superb
and the Mat Hires group might be staying at Charlie's parent's rental
property when they play C.S. on Sunday.
How cool is that!
His suspenders were pretty darn hilarious too.

Friday #2
Last night we ventured to HOB again in hopes of getting
tickets to see Five for Fighting.
We didn't end up getting tickets so that freed up out evening
to tryin something else new which ended up being a trip to The Shakespeare Pub.
It wasn't what I had expected so after a quick game of darts we skidaddled out of there
to get a yummy dinner of tacos.

Friday #3
And here I am at the end of the week and I am doggone tired.
I can't wait for a quiet weekend and maybe an invention or two.
actually this looks pretty nice too!

Get your balloon on!

This is the sight that greeted me this morning
at the office!
Everyone could write notes and give their co-workers balloons
as a fund raiser for The American Heart Association.
How fun is that!
It's been such a happy day seeing everyone's desks
adorned with colorful, helium goodness!

I have a secret shame...

And yes, I'm going to blog about it.
I am obsessed with this micro giraffe from the direct TV commercial.
He is the cutest and I would love to own one.
And possibly take him on walks in the park on a little rope made of diamonds.
Why diamonds?
Because if I could afford the only micro giraffe in the world then I can certainly afford a diamond leash.
Then husband sent me an e-mail the the smallest man in the world...
My response..."Aawww, I want one!"
The husband asked if I would prefer the micro giraffe or the mini-man.
To which I said "BOTH".
I could start a collection of tiny things!
On that note...
Happy Wednesday

Birthday Play!

This weekend was a blast!
Charlie took me to see my first play at the Alley Theater.
These are the best pictures my lil 'ol phone camera could take.
We saw, "Peter Pan OR The Boy That Wouldn't Grow Up."
I was so excited waiting for the play to start and it was even better than I had expected
The sets were truly amazing and I wish we could have taken pictures.
I snuck this one of the pirate ship set that the set crew assembled in three pieces.
If you click on the pic you can see bigger version.
It was a wonderful birthday present and I hope we can go again soon!

The Alley

Charlie got us tickets to see the play
Peter Pan this Sunday!
I'm so excited to see a play at the Alley Theater.
I've never been before and I'm not sure what to wear...
I hear people get dressed up like when you go to the opera.
Any ideas, anyone?

Happy Birthday to Mmmeee!

Today has been a wonderful 26th birthday!
My co-workers decorated my desk...
My sister and nephew came and had lunch with me
and brought the peachy tulips.
When I got back to my desk there was another sweet
bouquet from Kati and Adam!
Holy Moley do I feel special...church lady style.
Tonight we're all getting together for some good bar-b-q dinner
I am feeling the love today!

A night to remember...

We were busy bees this weekend.
After we drove in from College Station on Saturday
we met up with my mom for the Tyrone Wells concert!
I was so excited to share the night with my mom
because she loves Tyrone's music and the cheery on top
was that his wife, Elina, was going to sing with him too.
The fellar in the above pic is Tyrone's bass player...not Elina thank goodness.
I am so glad to have gotten to spend the evening with some
of my most favorite people in the world!
On our way back to our car we saw this house decked out for
the upcoming holiday.
The fake roaches all over that dude in the sheet were
creeping me out man!

GO 'STROS!

Husband and I kicked off our super busy weekend with our first (and probably last)
baseball game of the year.
My mom got tickets through her school so my sister and her family
got to join in on all the Minute Made Park glory.
Lukie was showing me how he blinks his eyes...he's my favorite 3 year old!
We had a great view of the whole stadium since we were
sitting right under the big screen.
We took a bunch of family pics and this was the best one
Uncle Charlie tucked the State Farm teddy bear into
Lukies shirt...that lasted all of about 3 seconds.
We had a blast with our sweet family even though
the Astros didn't pull out the win.
Charlie remembered the Friday fireworks show they
always have after the Friday games.
The show was about 15 minutes long and a perfect
end to a great night!
